Travel Essentials

you’ve checked it all off the list, your luggage is patiently waiting by the front door, and your carry-on is zipped up and ready to go. It’s time to look over your personal item, and make sure that all of the necessary travel essentials make it to your destination as well.

Give your personal item some love & attention

We don’t know about you guys, but we’re under the impression that people put way more focus and effort into getting their checked-in bag and carry-on ready, rather than their personal items. We get it, the luggage is where you pack your clothes, shoes and toiletries, and these are some crucial items. But if you think about it, your most important stuff are the little things you store in your personal item. We’re talking about your passport, wallet, earphones, charger and ticket. Without these items, things would get tricky pretty fast, but with these items in your bag, nothing else really matters; whatever happens, you’ll be alright.

Things to place in your personal item

When you’re packing your personal item, it is easy to forget about some obvious stuff. Except for the necessities mentioned above, there are some other things that should make the cut when fighting for space in your personal item, things that will enhance your comfort and travel experience. As much as we love stylish organization and smart solutions, we also love experiences. We believe that every experience should be special, and that things that can be easy shouldn’t ever have to be hard. In our opinion, life is about experiencing incredible things with the people you love. We want to focus on the less important stuff, so that you can focus on what really matters, while being environmentally friendly. This sounds like a win-win to us.

So, what do we put in our personal item? First of all, we never travel without our Nuun Active or Resorb supplement, or similar, which restores your body from dehydration. Hours of flying can be rough on your body, and we like to help it recover in the ways that we can. Therefore, we also make sure to bring a water bottle, and to drink a lot of water. When being on a plane, there’s no such thing as “too much water.” Next, we pack hand lotion, lip balm, hand sanitizer and wipes. Being able to clean up and freshen up on a long flight will feel super refreshing, and is a real mood-changer. Last but not least, we pack our sleeping mask, earplugs and travel pillow for the ultimate sleeping experience. We top it off by adding a comfy sweater, since planes tend to be chilly.

use cases to organize your bag

Last but not least, placing items like your passport, phone and earbuds in individual cases will make your life easier when trying to locate your stuff later on. No matter if you travel by plane, train or automobile, we bet you have better things to do than to be digging around in your bag, head first, trying to find those missing earbuds
