How to Pack for a Weekend Getaway

Packing can be difficult, especially if there is limited space in your suitcase. For a weekend getaway, a carry-on luggage is preferable. You don’t want to waste any valuable time arriving early to the airport to check in your bag or waiting at the carousel. So to help you with your packing, we gathered our best packing tips for a weekend getaway.

Carry-on

Weekender Pro tip #1

With a carry-on, your fluids can be max 100 ml each. They also need to fit into one of those little plastic bags they give you at security.

To make sure all my toiletries will fit, and that nothing will be thrown out, I bring them in a mini beauty box, which only holds enough products to fit into the plastic bag.

STEP 1

When you are done packing your toiletries, pack your brush case, make-up case and other small items in a separate little travel bag.

Weekender pro tip #2

Packing cubes! The cubes saves you space in the bag. Here are some space saving tips:

1. Fit your clothes into max 3 cubes: Limit yourself to only use one cube for underwear and 1-2 cubes for clothes. You don’t need more for a weekend getaway.

2. Mix and Match outfits: Pack pants that can be used during the day and night, and just change the top. Only bring a sweater that goes with all the outfits you have etc.

3. Wear your heaviest clothes & Shoes: If weight or space is an issue. Wear those heavy boots and that fluffy sweater on the plane.

STEP 2

In addition to the packing cubes; a shoe bag, a laundry bag and a laptop case are essential in any packing, regardless of how many days you are gone.

WEEKENDER PRO Tip #3

Bring a small bag!

For a day out walking around the city, you need a small bag for your wallet, phone and other valuables.

Bring a bag that works equally well for a night out and sightseeing during the day.

STEP 3

The final touch to your packing is to bring a Tote to complement your wheely bag. Pack it with your laptop, a Notebook to make notes during your trip and a Charger Case for all your chargers.
